A roofing contractor was losing deals because their quotation process was slow and inconsistent. We built a web-based platform that takes a site survey and outputs a fully itemised, professionally formatted quote, automatically calculating material quantities, pricing, and labour based on configurable rate cards.
The client's estimators were producing quotes manually: measuring roof dimensions from site notes, looking up current material prices in a spreadsheet, calculating quantities by hand, and typing up proposals in Word. The process took two to three days per quote and varied significantly between estimators. Customers told to expect a quote in a couple of days were waiting a week: and by then had often moved on.
We built the quotation engine around the inputs an estimator already had: roof dimensions, pitch, material type, and site-specific notes. From those inputs, the system calculated material quantities with built-in waste margins, looked up current prices from a rate card the business controlled, and generated a line-itemised quote with a branded PDF ready to send. The rate card system was designed for the office manager to maintain, not a developer.
The client reduced their average quote turnaround from three days to under thirty minutes. Proposal consistency improved because every quote was calculated from the same logic. The team is now closing deals that previously went cold during the wait, and the office manager updates material prices independently without any technical involvement.
